Five Things You Should Know About...
...PowerPoint Presentations:
- Breathe, smile, know your subject, know your equipment. Stand and be sure to make eye contact.
- Know your presentation -"practice makes perfect" it also make it easier to relax and deliver a powerful presentation.
- Balance - Solid primary colours look best in pie charts, darker colours weight the bottom of the slide and lighter ones should go at the top. There should also be slightly more negative space at the bottom of a slide than the top
- PowerPoint presentations should be concise and bulleted with a few well chosen, engaging visuals. Use a one or two 28-40 pt. sans serif fonts with maximum six single lines per visual,
- Use sound sparingly if needed at all
- Add movement - eg. upward swipe of arrow on a chart.
