Three Great Blogging resources:
Help to focus your blogging efforts or just help to get started...
Three very common questions from three of my most recent Blog-site clients have prompted this month's content. 1. "...loving my new WordPress blog. Now that you have built the blog-site and I am finally actively blogging after thinking about it for two years, I really think I could use some regular support for creativity and to keep me on track with developing my content. I would love to find some sort of peer mentoring group to work with". Last week I attended a call presented by my friend Linda Dessau of Content Mastery Guide. The half-hour call was all about "How to Be a Weekly Blogger." It was brief yet packed with constructive tips for creativity, planning and writing content. It was particularly perfect for those of us who do not consider ourselves to be "writers." Click here to replay the beginning five minutes of the call. If you want to hear the rest, the full audio, handout and worksheet from the call are posted on the members-only site of the Content Mastery Action Club, which includes more resources, and access to Linda's editing services and coaching. You can learn more or join at http://www.contentmasteryguide.com/actionclub.html If you are not sure about joining yet, I would encourage you to subscribe to Linda's Content Mastery guide newsletter, investigate the resources on her site and sit in a couple of her monthly calls. I promise it will be well worth your time! 2. "...overwhelming amount of information out there. Is there a good basic guide that you would recommend to help me get started?" This is a little old but not outdated, still very relevant and useful... "Seven Steps to a Successful Marketing Blog.": marketingprofs.com
While you are there, sign up for at least the free level of membership at Marketing Profs for lots of other great free articles and guides. The Pro level is also more than well worth the price of admission. 3. Finally, the burning question..."how to grow and monetize my blog". This client's concern was a perfect fit for my trusted friend and colleague Janice Waugh (AKA Solo Traveler - solotravelerblog.com). Take a tour of the Global Bloggers Network globalbloggersnetwork.com and the related Facebook page for peer community (more support for client #1 above) and plenty of information and resources. If you are thinking "but this is about travel blogging" look beyond the niche and notice the wealth of information that relates to any blog.
